Serving time for a bank robbery made to avoid bankruptcy, Umberto is allowed to work outside prison during the day as a librarian. He starts hanging out with a beautiful woman who has mistaken him for a volunteer helping the inmates – but, like a modern-day Cinderella, he must leave and be back in his cell every day before midnight... will they manage to live happily ever after?.
